Things are even busier in March and April than they were at the start of the year. This time though we have been concentrating on the more serious side of the movement. Action Days to get the ‘Vote on the final deal’ message over to the populations of Herefordshire and Worcestershire and marching in the sunny north. Sophistication? We’ve been to Leeds!

March – Creation of the Pershore and Evesham for Europe Group

Pershore and Evesham for Europe were set up in March to promote local, grassroots discussion on challenging Brexit.

With a small group of supporters we have organised two Saturday morning street stalls in Evesham and Pershore to promote the Peoples Vote.

Colleagues attended the Midland Regional meeting in Stratford on the 24 April to engage with the larger Midland groups and plan future activities.

March 24th – Great Northern March

Marches took place all over the country in March (Scotland, Wales, East Anglia, Exeter to name but a few). Even though the BBC ignored them, these marches were a great success. These photos are from the Great Northern March in Leeds where between 3500 or so attended. We protested good naturedly around the city centre and then congregated outside the City Hall for the speakers. Speeches from Lord Adonis (and his cheer leading), AC Grayling (informative and entertaining as usual), Femi Oluwole (His ‘I have a dream’ parody went down a storm) and many more.

April 7th Bromsgrove Action Day

The Action Day was postponed until the afternoon due to really bad weather, but the Bromsgrove team are nothing if not flexible and the day turned out to be a great success. Lot’s of postcards signed for Sajid and Rachel to mull over and some great interaction with the locals. Back again in May.

April 7th – Pershore Action Day

The first street stall in Evesham (with colleagues from the Evesham Labour Party) discussing Labour's current strategy on Brexit.

April 14th – Ledbury (The Peoples Vote National Campaign)

This Action Day was part of a nation campaign to launch the People Vote. 150 events took place all over the country with Ledbury being a combined effort between Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Over 5000 leaflets were posted or handed out, 70+ postcards signed for local MP’s to ponder along with the usual street debates. The weather held up to provide an excellent days campaigning.

April 14th Evesham Action Day

The first street stall in Pershore promoting Peoples Vote by P&E4E. This is virgin territory for the group but we received positive interest above expectation. So the signs are good for future action days.

April 21st Worcester Action Day

For once the weather was ideal and the people of Worcester came out to make their feelings know as only the people of Worcester can. Lots more postcards signed, and 1000 leaflets distributed. This was the first outing of the Brexitometer and, as you can see from the picture, the feeling is that Brexit is not going well…We even caught a Leaver trying to move one of the magnetic markers from ‘Badly’ to ‘Well’… you wouldn’t catch a Remainer being so dishonest 😊

If you would like to do your bit (and have a tremendous fun into the bargain) why not book a place on our coach to the march on Parliament on June 23rd and make your feelings known. It is a family friendly event where you get to see many of London’s famous landmarks without the traffic.
